Program Descriptions
P.A.C.E. (Processing and Cognitive Enhancement) Training

This scientifically developed program helps improve basic learning skills such as:
Attention, concentration, and focus—paying attention to what is important, ignoring distractions.
Visual and auditory memory—being able to encode, retain, and retrieve information both heard and seen
Logic and reasoning—knowing how to break multi-
Visual processing—being able to recognize and respond to subtle changes in visual information.
Processing speed—having immediate and accurate access to whatever skills are needed for the task at hand.
Spatial orientation—being able to mentally rotate objects in space so they are recognizable in different orientations.
Visualization—having the ability to formulate mental pictures of written or spoken material in order to store and use information more efficiently.
Integration—having quick, accurate, efficient neuronal connections in the brain that allow multiple pieces of information to be synthesized, processed, and used in the service of learning.
Unlike other learning disability programs that focus on behavior management or specific academic skills, PACE seems to improve the brain’s processing ability. PACE does for mental abilities what exercise does for the body.
PACE GIVES CHILDREN BACK
One of the most noticeable and significant impacts that PACE makes on children's
lives is on their self-

This highly innovative sound therapy program consists of listening to specially developed recordings that stimulate different parts of the brain, offering solutions for:
Learning Breakthrough with Core Learning Skills
Learning Breakthrough was developed by Keeping Pace Learning Centers to address foundation processing and strengthen the weak cognitive skills of students who are not ready for the demands of class work that they are expected to do. The students who benefit the most from this program are 3rd graders and under, older students with more serious delays, and those with Learning and Attention Disabilities such as Dyslexia and ADD/ADHD.
Learning Breakthrough activities are physical, balance and sensory integration exercises that improve cognitive and literacy ability as well as motor skills and dexterity. This integrated approach to strengthening skills necessary for easy, efficient targets the following problems:
Reading difficulties
Poor, sloppy handwriting
Below normal academic achievement
Inadequate verbal fluency
Inability to pay attention and stay focused
Poor athletic performance
Difficulty following instructions
Sensory motor work—bean bag, balance board, infinity walk, lazy eights, eye-
Grapho-
Attention, focus, and concentration training—focus is on divided attention, sustained attention, and increasing frustration tolerance
When school is not going well, parents look to academic tutoring and homework help as a solution. Often just tutoring doesn’t work to solve the problem. At Keeping Pace Learning Center, we do MORE than tutor. We help children and adults SOLVE their learning challenges.

To what degree the many components of the Learning Breakthrough Program are used in a student’s remediation plan are determined by the results of the assessment process. Ideally, Learning Breakthrough sessions are followed by half an hour of academic tutoring.
Components include:
Auditory training— analysis, segment work, blending for children with decoding and spelling issues, auditory reception difficulties, auditory expressive issues, oral language issues
Sound Therapy
Visual Processing skills training
Memory training—teaching memory strategies and skills
Logic and reasoning—learning to see patterns, solve problems
Parent training—the last 5 minutes of each session
